How We Work

Every successful video starts with a good chat and a mug of coffee

Our Process

We can provide high-quality photographs which combined with our video production services can help share your message and improve your communications. Working together to identify your target market, create a strategy to achieve your goals. We will then deliver creative video and imagery solutions that engage and connect.

A strategic goal underpins every project we undertake. We look at exactly what you need to achieve and ensure that our creative process is aligned with it.

As soon as we go into production, our team of filmmakers work in a range of ways depending on the nature of the project.

Understand your message and audience

Here at Zealous Media we start from scratch.

Before the creative juices start flowing we work tirelessly to overview the project by running though your brief, we look at the key messages and identify the intended audience.

From your initial idea, be it corporate event coverage, internal production videos or social media marketing, we take your idea and develop it to create something fantastic.

How do you want the video to affect you viewers, does it need to educate, motivate or wow. It could be any combination of feelings and motivations, but you need to work out what they are. Thats where we can help.

We can then discover and discuss ideas of how to convert those key messages into a video that will work with the identified audience. At this stage it’s important to consider all the potential production elements and ensure that those are achievable within the budget and timescales.

With regular contact and face to face meetings we can help grow your idea further than imagined.

Consultation & Storyboarding

At the beginning of a project we’ll discuss what you want to achieve with your video. What would you like to communicate? Who is your audience? How will you measure the success of your video?

We’ll have initial creative conversations about the content, tone and style of your film. And then we’ll develop what we’ve discussed into a proposal that works within your budget and timing, and satisfies your goals for the film.

Next it’s time to turn those ideas into a tangible and liner story. If the video is going to be a simple interview or piece to camera, a storyboard is not a necessity but questions and a good script will be invaluable.

At the beginning of a project we’ll discuss what you want to achieve with your video. What would you like to communicate? Who is your audience? How will you measure the success of your video?

We’ll have initial creative conversations about the content, tone and style of your film. And then we’ll develop what we’ve discussed into a proposal and story board that works within your budget and timing, and satisfies your goals for the film.

Once this is completed we’ll reach out for approval and sign off. This keeps everyone in the loop and reduces the risk of surprises.

Lets shoot something – the production stage

So with your signed off and agreed storyboard, you’re ready to start production.

We’ll work with our core kit which contains the most up-to-date equipment and accessories. We regularly use Canon Digital Cinema cameras and HDSLR cameras, with a selection of L-series zoom and prime lenses. For camera movement and stabilisation we use to DJI Ronin gimbal, track and dolly, and manual sliders.

Post production

This is where the magic happens cutting together the rushes, motion graphics and audio to create the story.

The post-production takes place at our in-house studio, with edit suites for offline and online editing, music and sound editing, colour correction and grading. We also have specialist team members for any animation and motion graphics requirements.

During the process of amends, we can either send the draft film to you for comments, or can arrange a face-to-face meeting, where we can work through them together. We’ll deliver the film in the format you require, and we can advise and support you with online distribution and channel management.

The Essence

Pre-planning your video project and creating a project essence that acts as your reference, along with a realistic time-line and budget, will help you select the right format, style and elements for your production.

Once you start shooting with expanded creative visions, your palette will keep growing and growing. As a Creative Director, one of my favourite exercises is trying to match the format and elements to the project. I think you’ll find as much fun in this as I have, and your videos will look better and be more effective in influencing your audience.
