About Zealous Media

Every successful video starts with a good chat and a mug of coffee

Zealous Media

We started small and stayed that way on purpose.

Zealous Media started out filming conference and event content, and grew from there into larger productions across an increasingly wide range of sectors and businesses. Over two decades we have filmed for household name brands and small companies making their first video. We have been on shoots in Italy, Spain, the USA and all over the UK. The work is as varied as it gets, and that variety is genuinely what we enjoy most about it.

We are deliberately small. Not because we cannot take on large projects, but because staying lean keeps our overheads low and our standards high. Rather than carrying a large permanent team, we work with a trusted network of specialist freelancers who we have built relationships with over many years. That means we can scale up or down for any brief, and more importantly it means we put the right people on each job rather than whoever happens to be available.

A pharmaceutical training video needs different skills to a fast-paced FPV drone shoot or a multi-camera international conference. Being able to handpick the team around the brief is something a fixed-headcount agency cannot do. It is one of the reasons our clients keep coming back.

The work we do.

Corporate video, brand films, promotional content, event filming and live streaming, drone footage, training videos, animated explainers, virtual tours, case studies and more. We handle full productions from initial brief through to final delivery, and we also provide camera crews for shoots that clients are managing themselves. We work with single operators on smaller jobs and full multi-camera teams on larger ones. The brief determines the crew, not the other way around. We also work as a production partner for PR and marketing agencies, white label or credited, fitting around however you work with your clients.

How we work with clients.

We start every project with a proper conversation. Not a form, not an automated response, just a direct discussion about what you need, what you are trying to achieve and what the budget looks like. From that we put together a clear proposal that sets out exactly what we would do and what it would cost. No surprises, no hidden extras.

Once the brief is agreed we handle the planning, the permissions, the crew, the kit and the shoot itself. During post production we share cuts for feedback and work through revisions until the film is exactly right. We deliver in whatever format you need and can advise on distribution if that is useful.

The kit we use.

Our core cameras are the Sony FX9 and Sony FX3, both full frame sensors shooting up to 4K. We carry cinema prime lenses, professional audio and lighting, DJI Ronin gimbal, Rhino motion-controlled slider, jib, and track and dolly. For drone work we fly a Mavic 4 Pro and custom built FPV rigs, with fully CAA licensed pilots. Our camera crews are available as standalone hire or as part of a full production. If a project needs specialist kit we do not carry, we source it as part of the pre-production process.

Where we work.

We are based in Southampton which makes us well placed for work across Hampshire and the south of England. We work in London regularly, and nationally and internationally when the job requires it. We have filmed in Italy, Spain, the USA and all over the UK, and our team includes people who are used to travelling and working efficiently in unfamiliar locations.

For shoots within an hour of Southampton there are no travel charges. For locations further afield we are always upfront about what travel costs look like before anyone commits to anything.

Why clients work with us.

We have been doing this long enough to know what works and what does not. We are honest about both. If a brief is not right for us we will say so. If there is a more cost effective way to achieve what a client needs we will suggest it, even if it means a smaller job for us. That approach is not altruistic, it is just good business. Clients who trust you come back, and they tell other people.

The variety of the work is something we are genuinely proud of. Coca-Cola, Tesco and ITV sit alongside small local businesses and everything in between. The brief changes every time. The care we put into it does not.
